Nutrition made simple!

Updated: Oct 6, 2022

It’s no secret that there’s an overwhelming amount of information out in the world when it comes to nutrition. It’s very easy to get lost in the trends and lose sight of what our body really needs. At Free2Be, we take a holistic approach to wellness. Nutrition not only fuels our bodies, but it also provides the nourishment needed to promote a strong mind, protect against illness, reduce stress, and even bring us joy.

The benefits of proper nutrition are endless. What we eat impacts all aspects of our daily lives and focusing on what we need to fuel the body the right way, while still enjoying the foods we love, will aid in resetting, restoring and reigniting ourselves. Eating a variety of foods from each food group will provide your body with all the nutrients and vitamins that it needs to thrive.

Nutrition doesn’t need to be complicated. If you listen to the signals your body gives you, it’s easier to know what you need and when you need it.

First and foremost, connecting the mind and body, identifying our internal cues, reading our environment and understanding how training and nutrition work together, will set the stage to become in tune with your body.

What are macronutrients, otherwise known as macros? The three main nutrients in food are carbohydrates, protein and fat and they all serve their own purpose when keeping the body running smoothly.

  • Carbohydrates are your body’s main source of energy and they fuel your brain, kidneys, heart, muscles, and central nervous system.

  • Proteins' job is to build and repair muscles and bones as well as to make hormones and enzymes.

  • Fats support cell function, keep your body and organs warm, assist in absorbing nutrients, and produce important hormones and they are a secondary energy source as well.

All three of these essential nutrients work in tandem to create a healthy, functioning body.

At Free2Be Wellness, we help you cut through the noise to create a healthy, loving relationship with food.

Join us for our Monday Coffee Chats or Tuesday evening Special Events (coming soon!) where we take a closer look at what we need to reset, restore and reignite our bodies.
